WELCOME - MODULE 1

A warm welcome to everyone!

The main purpose of this blog is to give you the opportunity to share and tell stories, to open your mind and heart.

1)  WHAT'S STORYTELLING?
Stories have power. They delight, enchant, touch, teach, recall, inspire, motivate, challenge. They help us understand. They imprint a picture on our minds. Want to make a point or raise an issue? Tell a story. —Janet Litherland

People need to express their emotions, to explore new worlds, to create with words and to learn through stories. This is for me the most important meaning of storytelling. A video, a short film, a sequence of images, a digital comic, music, anything we create tells something and this is the best way to motivate and engage our students.

2) WHY DIGITAL STORY TELLING IN CLASS?

Storytelling in the class can be a powerful tool  not only to let students explore their creativity but also to improve their language skills. It can also be used to deal with many different cross-curricular topics and genres. What's more, it can be a great way to promote collaborative learning if we ask them to work in groups or pair.

3) MY EXPECTATIONS AND GOALS WITH THIS COURSE

In this course of Digital Storytelling I expect to learn new tools and ways of adapting storytelling in the secondary class. I hope I will learn some tips and good creative ideas to use in class. I am sure we will learn a lot by sharing our works.
